Eastern Counties Spaniel Society will be holding a training day for novice handlers and their spaniels on Saturday 18th April 2026.
This event is open to both members and non-members.
This training day gave novice handlers the great opportunity to work with extremely experienced trainers, including KC Panel Judges. Our trainers have competed at the highest level, and all want to help the next generation of handlers/competitors. This is a superb chance for novice handlers to ask questions and to take advantage of the vast amount of knowledge/experience held by our trainers.
Handlers will be split into small groups; we will attempt to group handlers/dogs with similar experience by asking all successful applicants to complete a questionnaire ahead of the day, so please be honest! Each group will spend time with each trainer covering areas such as general obedience, steadiness, retrieving and hunting
Mark and Shirley Stephens have kindly agreed that we can hold this training day on their working farm near Wixoe which provides plenty of ground for training and includes areas of white grass, woodland and water.
Refreshments were provided on arrival and throughout the day, please bring your own lunch there will be a short interval for this.
Cost of the day: £50 for members or £60 non-members.
